To make a Wall Plates, two pieces of glass are cut, cleaned, stacked together and placed into a kiln. The kiln goes up to 1450 degrees Fahrenheit, and then the glass becomes molten and fuses together to make one piece of glass. The glass goes into a waterjet and the plate is cut out. Then, when the glass is placed onto a mold and taken to 1300 degrees Fahrenheit, the glass becomes elastic and gravity pulls the glass over the mold. We call this process slumping. The glass spends about 48 hours in the kilns. Expect slight variations in color & size.
