There is a wonderful mixture of very striking colors in this image, which shows the remains of a wooden pier in still water, before a dark mountainside. The sky is awash with hues of sunset pinks playing among the upper clouds, against the bold blues of the sky itself. These are reflected in the water, creating a blurry palette of contrasts. There is a lonely melancholy in the wooden posts, yet the image is far more appealing than sad. A very well-captured piece.
