It features the world-renowned Golden Gate Bridge, which spans the strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Completed in 1937, it is one of the most recognized bridges in the world. To the right in the distance is downtown San Francisco, and visible in the city skyline is the distinctive Transamerica Pyramid Center. Centered in the distance is the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge, which spans San Francisco Bay and connects San Francisco and Oakland. On the left, in San Francisco Bay, is Alcatraz Island which previously served as a federal penitentiary.
