By 1900, Northern Ireland was one of Europe''s great manufacturing regions and led the world in linen production and shipbuilding. The world''s largest dry dock is located in Belfast. The ill-fated Titanic was built in Belfast by Harland and Wolff at the site of the two giant yellow cranes, which are referred to as Sampson and Goliath.
