This great menu art, featuring a sea lion dressed as a waiter and about to serve champagne, comes from the famous Cliff House hotel and restaurant in San Francisco. Built in 1863, the year of the Battle of Gettysburg, it is still in operation today.

Constructed on cliffs on the westernmost edge of the city, The Cliff House has absolutely jaw-dropping views. Locals and tourists that have come here for decades to eat and drink, try to spot sea lions on the rocks below. Hence this charming menu cover which dates from the 1930s.
