Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902): After seeing the cruel and unjust treatment of women before the law, in the office of her father, Judge Cady, she vowed, even as a child to find a way to help change these laws. Her marriage to the abolitionist leader, Henry B. Stanton, swept her swiftly into the current of the national politics. This laid a firm foundation for the political experience to wage the battle for woman''s rights in which she was to become a most inspiring leader. Together with friends, she planned and executed the first Woman''s Rights Convention in Seneca Falls, New York, July 19th and 20th 1848. Her life story is truly the history of the Woman''s Rights Movement.
