Description

This panoramic photograph of Prague was taken by James Blakeway. It features the famous Charles Bridge, which was built in 1357 and for 400 years was the only connection between the two halves of Prague. Prague is a city on the Vltava River known for its history, architectural wonders and is the social and cultural center of the Czech Republic. In the distance is the Prague TV Tower, the tallest structure in Prague and a great place from which to view the city. At the far left is the Prague Castle which was the residence of Chech kings from the end of the 9th century. Today it is the residence of the Czech President.
