The first piece of Skagerak"™s Cutter collection was a wooden bench that Niels Hvass designed in 1999 for the Planken Ud exhibition at Designmuseum Danmark. The clean-lined design of the bench comprises a simple wooden frame and slats connected by finger joints. Hvass drew his inspiration for the continuous shape of the base from Bauhaus movement"™s use of metal tubes.
