A petite carved Buddhist monk from Burma, Its hand carved in wood with a gilded finish over a lacquered base. It features beautiful facial expressions and stylized rope with jewel inserts. This vintage monk statue represents "Maudgalyayana" an important Buddha disciple. The statue show slight wear, paint loss and cracks but are in good structural condition.
